Privacy policy
Agugu is a speech-practice app for children. We built it to collect as little as possible: no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. This policy explains what the app does with information, in plain words.
What stays on the device
Profiles you create (a child's first name or nickname, the animal buddy and colour), stars, trophies, game progress and settings such as sounds switched off or a quiet Agugu.
This is stored only on the device, in the app's own storage. We never receive it. Deleting a profile or the app deletes it.
The microphone
Games ask for the microphone so a child can say words out loud, roar or blow out candles. Speaking is always optional, and every game works without it.
Agugu never saves, keeps or sends recordings. Roaring and blowing only measure loudness on the device.
To recognise spoken words, Agugu uses the speech recognition built into the phone (Apple on iPhone and iPad, Google or the device maker on Android). Depending on the device and its settings, that service may process the audio on its own servers under Apple's or Google's privacy policy. Agugu only receives the recognised text, uses it to check the word, and then discards it.
Agugu's voice
Agugu's voice is built into the app and runs on the device. Nothing a child does is sent anywhere to make him talk.
Purchases
Purchases are handled by the App Store or Google Play. We never see payment details. The app only learns whether the full version is unlocked. The purchase screen sits behind a gate meant for grown-ups.
Children
Agugu is made for children and is designed to follow children's privacy laws such as COPPA in the US and the GDPR in the EU. We don't collect personal information from children, show ads, or link to other apps or websites without a grown-up gate.
This website
agugu.app uses no cookies and no analytics. Agugu's voice on this page plays from files on this site.
